People often ask me if I would want to be a contestant on the show Cupcake Wars. The answer is no. Because I don't own a bakery, the thought of baking on such a large scale, making every cupcake look perfect, and having to race against the clock is not something that appeals to me. If you asked me whether I would want to be a judge on Cupcake Wars, I'd have a different answer: "Heck, yeah!" Who wouldn't want to sample all of those different cupcakes?!
Omaze is offering 10 Cupcake Project readers a ticket. With those tickets, you'll be able to enter Omaze's contest to come as close as any of us are going to get to being a Cupcake Wars judge: "You and a guest will hang out backstage with host Justin Willman during a taping of the hit show, taste all the cupcakes and compare your choices to the judges." They'll also throw in airfare and lodging!
Even if you don't win a ticket, I encourage you to buy contest tickets for yourself and your friends through Omaze. The proceeds from the contest go to Team Rubicon, a charity that helps returning veterans find a renewed sense of purpose by getting them involved - and using their hard-earned skills - in disaster relief efforts.
How to Win a Ticket for a Chance to Go Backstage on Cupcake Wars
This contest is going to be simple and fast. You've got just over 24 hours to enter from the time I post this.

Disclosure: Omaze also gave me 5 tickets for myself. I am cheering for all of you, but obviously, I want to win! :)

ReplyDeleteI have. When I was in maybe 5th grade, I won a city-wide, fire-safety contest. One of my prizes was to come out on tv on a little 30-sec type show that came on in between shows. That was my 15 minutes of fame. lol

ReplyDeleteI haven't been on one. I agree with you, I am setting up a mobile cupcake kitchen and people ask me if I would go on the show. Personally one of the biggest things that irritates me when I watch is the loose hair and the face touching while baking. I wonder if the judges ever pull a hair out of an otherwise perfect cupcake?

I went to a music awards show taping once. It amazed me how much editing can really do for a show. Now, backstage on Cupcake Wars? That would be a dream come true! Hello Justin, Candace, and Florian!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to be on the show but with my luck I'd get stuck with seaweed and hot dogs for the mandatory ingredients. So, since I could never pull that off, I'll stick with a chance to be a backstage judge-wannabe. Hope I win!!! How absolutely fun could that be!
ReplyDeleteOops sorry, forgot to say I've NEVER been on ANY show, guest or audience. So way cool chance to be on one I would adore.

ReplyDeleteA.G.E.S. ago I was on the set of Pinky Lee in (probably - I was too young to know) Burbank, CA. I've also been to tapings of the Johnny Carson Show (also ages ago). I worked at 20th Century Fox in Beverly Hills, and witnessed MANY tapings for The Six Million Dollar Man, After Mash, and Moonlighting (with Cybil Shepherd and Bruce Willis). However, we currently live where we don't even get TV reception, so I have never even seen Cupcake Wars. I'd sure like to win, though, to see what I've been missing! :-)
