Sweet Stands Giveaway

Print Friendly and PDF

Update: This contest is over.  The winners are Trang from Lancaster, PA, Samantha Jo Jordan from Charlottesville, VA, and  Adrienne Rankin from Greenville, SC. Congrats!

Isn't it nice to be selfish sometimes?  There's no need to share your caramel cupcake - it's all for you!  Along the same line, have you ever considered the feelings of your cupcakes?  They are so often forced into crowded conditions, sharing tight living quarters with their peers on large stands.  With Sweet Stands, each of your empowered cupcakes can have a stand of its own.

Sweet Stands (featured in my yogurt and honey cupcake post) would be so cute at your next dinner party, and Hello Hannah (the maker of Sweet Stands) has offered to give three packages of Sweet Stands away to Cupcake Project readers!

How to Win

When I started thinking about this giveaway, I began to ruminate on the word "stand."  I wondered about everyone reading this post and where in the world each of you are standing.  I thought it would be fun for us all to share where we live and (while we are at it) at least one of our favorite places to get dessert in our towns.

I trust that any Cupcake Project reader knows his/her desserts, and I, for one, would love to check out your top picks if I ever make it to your neck of the woods.

So, to enter:
  • Leave a comment on this blog with your hometown and one of your favorite places to get dessert (your kitchen doesn't count).
  • For a second chance, become a Facebook fan and leave a comment on this post on Facebook with your hometown and your second favorite place to get dessert (it must be a comment on this post, not just a comment on my wall).

The Fine Print

  • All entries must be in by Thursday, September 30, 11:59 PM CDT.
  • Only two entries are allowed per person (one on Facebook and one on this blog).
  • Blog entries must include an email address or a link to a profile with an email address.
  • I will randomly draw three winners and post the winners on this post on October 1.
  • If I do not hear back from a winner within one week, I will draw a new winner.
  • Sorry, the prize can only be shipped to an address in the continental U.S.  However, just for fun, I'd love to hear from international readers.  Maybe, if you win, you'll know someone in the States that you'd like me to send the prize to.
My Answer to The Question

Gluten-free chocolate chip cookies from Free Range Cookies

As most of your know, I'm from St. Louis, Missouri.  I have so many favorite places to get dessert.  But, the place that I want to highlight today is Free Range Cookies.  Linda of Free Range Cookies makes the very best gluten-free baked goods that I have ever had (I'm not gluten-free and I still love her stuff).  Aside from her fine pastries, I chose Free Range Cookies because of this:

Lynda is not only the one person who asked me to sign the copy of People Magazine that I was featured in, but she actually hung it on the wall (not even my mom did that!).

I felt like a rock star!  Thanks, Linda!

  1. Chattanooga, TN Carrot cake at J Alexanders. It is actually a restaurant but they have the best carrot cake - it is served warm and the cream cheese frosting is all melty!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Andover, KS (near Wichita) Banana Cream Pie at Livingston's Diner. This is a family owned diner that is only open for breakfast and lunch. I even know the owner, so it's fun to give them a plug!! They make the pie fresh everyday!

  3. Tucson, AZ and no fair on the question! Srsly - folks with severe food allergies find it very difficult to eat at any bakery or dessert shop or get dessert at a restaurant b/c of cross-contamination. :( My nut/peanut allergy prevents me from doing so...however...I have had some wonderful non-almond based flan at a mexican place called Guadalajara Grill. It's the only place in Tucson I can actually get dessert. Ever read a label on high quality baking chocolate? Yah...nut and peanuts cross-x. Anyway...off my soapbox :) It's actually the reason why I'm a baker!

  10. Westford, Ma Kimball's Farm. They may be an ice cream stand but thats only a small part of it. Wonderful seasonal flavors (like the ever enjoyable Pumpkin and a new favorite Molasses Ginger Snap) and baked goods in the country store make it a favorite in town. There isn't much in the way of a good bakery in town so I've become fond rather fond of the sweet spot.

  50. O MY CUPCAKES! I hail from Flagstaff, Arizona. I live at 7,000ft., and our tallest mountain in the State is 13,000ft high, the San Francisco Peaks. We are surrounded by the largest Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world, and we are the only city in the world that has all three types of volcanos. The Strato, San Francisco Peaks, the Dome, Mt. Elden, which I have a full frontal view right in front of my home, and the shield.
My most favoritest dessert is the famous chocolate bread pudding, with homemade whip cream, and scrumptious chocolate syrup to top off this wonderment in our mountain town.
It is served at only one spot in our college, ski resort town. Beaver Street Brewery. They also have the greatest dessert fondues, and where can you find a fondue place these days?
I forgot we have Northern Arizona University here, I am a grad student online, and our ski resort, that just happens to be on one of four sacred mountains throughout the Four Corner Region.
We also are the gateway to the two rims of the wonder of the world, Grand Canyon. Hope you can visit our humble town. Oh one more thing, we have three reservations surrounding our town also, and the famous art town of Sedona is just a hop, skip, and bunny hop right down the mountain. Take care, and blessings to all

Although a chocolate-covered, cream-filled long john doughnut may be considered breakfast not dessert, it definitely is worthy of being called dessert. Amazing melt in your mouth!

    2) For Red Velvet cupcakes, the best place to go to is Sprinkles in Beverly Hills. Moist cake, with a good amount of cream cheese frosting - so delicious!

    3) Clifton's Cafeteria has been around since the 1930's. They are located in Downtown Los Angeles and have the best Strawberry Cake that my family has enjoyed for years! It's 4 thin layers of white cake with whipped creme and strawberries in between each layer. Sooo good!
